Does Jewelry From Bad Marriage Have Bad Karma???

By Robin Roshkind, Esquire, West Palm Beach, Florida

Many people believe that jewelry from a marriage gone bad, or a doomed relationship has bad karma.  For some reason, jewelry may carry bad spirits, bad luck, or cause bad things to happen if you wear or possess it.

While I cannot point to anything scientific, I can tell you, as a divorce lawyer, when a relationship breaks, jewelry becomes an issue.  First, because of its value or saleability.  Second, because of the emotional attachment when it was presented, or because of the lingering memories.  Third, because often the men/givers of the jewelry, want it back.

Advice to the ladies:  although you will never get what the jewelry is worth, if you can get cold hard cash for your jewelry, get rid of it, either by sale or return to the giver.  You don’t need the lingering memories.   If you are thinking about divorce call one of the divorce lawyers at ROBIN ROSHKIND, P.A. at 561 835 9091 or click on the Firm’s web site at for more information.
