Husbands often think that in Palm Beach County Divorce Courts, the wives get the better judgment. Wives often think that the Husbands get away with all sorts of things in court. The truth is as follows:
Palm Beach County judges do not like to micro manage families. There is an administrative order passsed by the judiciary of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida, that says all parties to a divorce MUST attend mediation prior to going to trial where the judge is the ultimate arbiter. Approximately 70% of my divorce cases settle in mediation.
However, of those going to trial, the truth is that the court is gender neutral. Where children are concerned, the judge only cares about what is in the best interests of the child. There is no favor of mother over father like there was when the “tender years” doctrine was in place. Judges generally feel that if both husband and wife leave the courtroom unhappy, then the judge has done a fair job.
