Most divorcing couples do not have enough funds to purchase two sets of everything a child needs at home, for school and after school activities. So I often have to get involved in fights between husbands and wives over the children’s sneakers, bed time medications, homework, toys, sports equipment, and piano lessons.
If one parent buys the stuff, he/she usually resents that the other parent has the stuff in their house. But the stuff we are talking about belongs to your child. So if the child wears new school clothes to dad’s house, it is important that it gets transported back, not kept there.
You would be surprised at how many parents act like kids over this. If I bought it, it should not leave MY house! Ridiculous! Save your legal fees for the benefit of your kids.
